Pneumatic transport complex “BOREY-350”
Moving of loose materials with the force of compressed air is effective and rather widespread technological process. Especially widely pneumatic transport is used in building industry, chemical industry and agriculture.
It is possible to refer the simplicity of operation and management, compactness and possibility of load moving along the difficult trajectory, hermeticity and ease of installation to doubtless advantages of pneumatic equipment. Modern pneumatic transport equipment is the whole complex of devices including feeders, serving for material input into bearing air stream, system of pipelines, aggregates of air-supplying and air-prepairing.
We can distinguish the equipment of periodic and continuous action, of low (up to 0,11 MPa), medium (up to 0,2 MPa) and of high pressure (up to 0,9 MPa). The pneumatic transport equipment differs on size of air pressure in the main traffic artery: for high pressure equipment the compressors are used, for low pressure equipment - more economic blowers.
Today the wide range of pneumatic transport machines of the most various types is produced, however the majority of models, presented in the market, have high productivity or work on high pressure of compressed air that is they are supposed to use powerful compressors, sophisticated equipment of air-preparing and dedusting. For example, the pneumatic chamber pump Montejus 1200-6 of the model NO-324MA has the average air consumption under overpressure 0.6 MPa 1000 m3 per hour. The weight of the compressor capable to give out such volume of compressed air is more than 2.5 ton, and its capacity exceeds 130 kW. Thus, the weight of the peripheral equipment is more than twice more than weight of the most pneumatic chamber pump - montejus, and their cost differs even more!
Therefore for transportation relatively small volumes of loose materials (≤5m3ph) it is considered more rational to use mechanical transport equipment, screw conveyors, bucket elevator, belt conveyors. The given mechanisms though are more bulky, but they do not require the expensive additional equipment.
The compressor providing the making of compressed air under the pressure of 0.6 MPa from 5 to 27 m3per minute is necessary for work of the pneumatic chamber pump of average productivity.
However moving of loose materials with the force of compressed air is not a prerogative of only large factories and powerful compressor techniques, under certain conditions this effective way of transportation can be used successfully on the small enterprises too. After all the compact pneumatic transport complexes working on low air pressure, have variety of advantages not only over the mechanical transport aggregates, but also over more productive pneumatic equipment that uses high pressure.
There is a short list of low pressure strong points:
- To generate compressed air not the compressors but vortical superchargers-blowers are used. The advantage of blowers is their simplicity and rather low cost (not only the price of blower, but also expenses on the compressor section equipment is taken into account). If the blowers are being used the necessity for cooling and air drainage disappears.
- Technical reliability of blowers is higher, than that of compressors. Absence of rubbing parts and big backlashes between details of the blower working chamber provide long service life and protection against breakages. Blowers are characterized with a very low noise and vibration level, full absence of pulsations of compressed air and very big time of throw-away service.
- Maximum air pressure on the blower exit, as a rule, does not exceed 0.1 MPa that is the given equipment is not subject to certification and registration in any establishment. For the inquiry: pneumatic chamber pumps - montejus should correspond to “Rules of configuration and safe operation of vessels working under pressure” approved by Russia State engineering supervision.
Blowers do not work under pressure; they are not subject to certification and registration in any establishments of state engineering supervision.
Most of all the advantages of pipeline pneumatic transport on the basis of blower machines of low pressure are shown in the conditions of small enterprises when volumes of transported materials are not very great (1-5 TPH), and their feeding is carried out on height up to 30 meters inclusive. To decide these problems compact pneumatic transport complexes are practically choiceless variant. Any other kind of the transport equipment cannot boast of bigger radius of action in the most straitened industrial conditions, flexibility in work and very full use of the areas unsuitable for placing of the equipment of other types.

Configuration, operating principle, technical characteristics
The pneumatic transport complex “BOREY-350” includes: a vortical supercharger (1), a rotary feeder which is built in pneumatic transport “BARRIER – PTR” (2), pipeline reinforcement with a flange of connection to main traffic artery (3), outbin (4), a rotary shutter “BARRIER – HERMETIC” (5), a control cabinet (is not shown provisionally), a frame (6).
To transfer loose materials the pneumatic transport complex “BOREY-350” is installed directly under a silo or bin. The flange of top rotary shutter of the complex connects with unloading window of storage, thus the material column creates additional hydrostatic pressure that improves transportation conditions.
From silo the powder arrives in the rotary shutter, fills the outbin and gets to the rotary feeder. At turn of a rotor of rotary feeder its top cells are filled with material which moves to the entrance window of compressed air. For each turn of cell rotor relatively small amount of the material is brought into the air stream to receive aeromixture of optimum concentration when high efficiency of feeding is reached without risk of "blockages" of main traffic artery.
